It's a little less perfectly even than a print, which is a good thing to me. The surface feels more personal when seen nearby.

Soft daylight works well with the aged bronze black wood frame.
The canvas arrived flat after unrolling and was easy to take to the framer.
My first painting ordered online, and I am really happy with it.
The red takes on a warmer cast under our evening bulbs. We chose the smaller format because I wanted it to be an unusual detail, not a big red area dominating the whole wall. It is easier to take in beside a plain piece of furniture. There is enough room around it to notice the suspended shapes.
The doorway reads more clearly off-screen.
The paint is fairly subtle head-on, but side light picks up raised marks around the doorway.
There is more depth in the red horse and black background than the website photos show.
We have mostly simple furniture, so this adds enough character over the entryway console. It looks moody, but the room still feels comfortable and lived in.
Large red artwork is hard to judge online, and I worried this would be too loud for our living room. The customer photos helped, but I still kept the box until we hung it. The red is deep and muted rather than bright, and the narrow black opening breaks it up nicely. After two days, I stopped second-guessing the order. It looks bold without taking over the room.
Fast delivery, solid corner guards, and the canvas stayed tight.
The gold accents are subtler and the red is darker than online.
"Some doors appear only when we begin to see beyond them."
A black horse emerges through a geometric threshold into a deep red space, surrounded by scattered and suspended spheres that seem to defy familiar rules. The boundary becomes a passage between consciousness and the unknown. As the ordinary world begins to lose its certainty, the work captures the first moment of crossing—when awareness reaches beyond what it knows and quietly encounters another possibility.
Inspired by thresholds in dreams, surreal architecture, and the moment before consciousness enters the unknown, the work places instinct against the boundaries of familiar order. Within the world of NightRelic, the unknown is not a darkness to escape, but a threshold waiting to be crossed.
