“Some journeys end where the light begins.”
Blocks of red, black, and dark gold create a serene geometric space; a light-colored sailboat rests on the horizon, flanked by two circular sources of light—one bright, one dim—positioned on either side of the composition. Vertical structures and curved surfaces intertwine, giving rise to a quiet and stable order among the sailboat, the light, and the space.

“Not everything broken comes apart."
Pale bones and deep red forms intertwine, creating a dense and complex structure against a fiery red background. Heavy brushstrokes emphasize the rigidity of the bones and the suppleness of the red tissue, allowing fragmentation, entanglement, and connection to coexist within the composition.
Inspired by forms in nature that remain interconnected even after their structures have disintegrated, this work uses the intertwining of bones and red tissue to express an inseparable relationship: while forms may change, certain connections will endure.
“What holds us also leads us forward.”
Pale tree trunks rise from the deep blue night, their thick roots spreading out across the ground toward the distance, with tiny plants scattered among them. Cool-toned brushstrokes and distant spires work together to create a sense of spatial depth, lending the still trees a sense of life that slowly extends outward.
Inspired by the roots of ancient trees that continuously grow outward, this work uses the extension of roots to symbolize the continuous expansion of life over time—taking root does not mean staying put, but rather, once a foothold is established, gradually moving toward more distant places.
“Distance changes what we once called home.”
A gray-black storm looms over the sea, with deep green waves churning ceaselessly; a Gothic building stands silently atop a distant cliff. The vast expanse of the sea contrasts with the distant spire, transforming the familiar structure into a silent, isolated presence at the far end of the horizon.
Inspired by the northern coast, storms, and distant cliffside architecture, this work interprets the distance created by the ocean as a metaphor for departure: some places have not disappeared, but as they grow ever more distant, they gradually become distant shores in our memories.
“What remains below does not ask to be found.”
In a deep, blue-green space, a massive black rock sinks beneath the water’s surface, while slender green plants grow upward along its walls. Faint light penetrates the deep water from above, creating a striking contrast between the hard rock, the soft plants, and the boundless darkness that surrounds them. The scene offers no clear direction or exit—only life slowly spreading out in the silent depths.
Inspired by rock strata buried by time in the deep sea and the microscopic life forms that continue to thrive in the darkness. The work conceives of the deep sea as a hidden realm far removed from the outside world: as light gradually fades and concepts of direction and distance lose their meaning, life still finds its own way to thrive. Some forms of existence need not be seen, nor do they need to reach any destination; they simply continue to unfold amid the endless silence.
“Absence has a way of taking up space.”
The dining table, covered with a white lace tablecloth, is set off to one side of the room, with two wooden chairs facing each other quietly. The vast, bare green wall creates a striking color contrast with the bright red floor, lending this ordinary interior scene a sense of restrained and subtle absence.
Inspired by a room that remains unchanged even after the waiting is over, this work uses offset furniture and large areas of negative space to convey the presence of “absence”—sometimes what truly transforms a space is not what is left behind, but who is missing.
“Every passage leaves another unopened.”
Layers of red, black, and dark gold unfold one after another; arches and crows are hidden in the depths of the composition, while large swaths of dark space remain empty. Repeating borders, play of light and shadow, and geometric relationships create multiple pathways, generating a subtle tension between openness and enclosure within the composition.
Inspired by architectural entrances that coexist yet lead in different directions, this work treats the unexplored spaces as a metaphor for choice: every step forward is accompanied by another possibility left behind.
“Some streets belong to the night alone.”
Deep blue and charcoal gray shroud the deserted streets of the old city; Gothic spires and building silhouettes fade into the night, while rows of utility poles stretch along the road, gradually disappearing into the distance. Faint starlight falls on the damp ground, casting a cool and subdued glow. With no pedestrians and no lit windows, the city sheds its daytime order, leaving only buildings, roads, and the night sky facing one another, creating a silence that borders on stillness.
Inspired by those fleeting moments when the city falls into complete silence. As the lights gradually fade, familiar streets lose their human activity and sounds, and buildings begin to reveal a different, slower, and more ancient aspect. This work focuses on this uninhabited stretch of time, transforming the night from merely a backdrop for the city into its true protagonist—when the last lights fade away, a city, too, finds its own silence.
“When direction disappears, movement becomes its own language.”
Pale and bluish-gray curves traverse three dimly lit scenes, creating varying rhythms of movement through vertical rises and falls, intersecting arcs, and horizontal undulations. Scattered dots, short lines, and faint markings float within them, like fragments of consciousness still searching for their place after losing their coordinates. Together, the three works form an abstract path without a center, where direction is no longer determined by fixed coordinates but gradually emerges from the ever-changing trajectories.
Inspired by the process through which consciousness re-perceives space and direction after losing clear guidance. When existing coordinates are no longer reliable and paths no longer point to a single answer, human judgment begins to emerge from the very acts of movement, deviation, and reorientation. The work juxtaposes three distinct states of trajectories, transforming direction from a fixed destination into an ongoing process of perception—sometimes what we truly need to find is not a new compass, but our own way of making judgments.
“Awakening begins at the edge of the unknown.”
A red, rounded form hangs in a dark space; at its center stands a building composed of red, gray, and black geometric shapes, with narrow arched doorways and staircases leading inward. The vertical structure, the entrance, and the reflection on the ground form a clear visual axis, creating a subtle tension between enclosure and access.
Inspired by the fleeting and hazy state of consciousness just before waking, as well as the spatial guidance provided by doors, stairs, and light, this work treats the entrance as a symbol of the boundaries of consciousness: crossing the threshold does not signify arrival, but rather the beginning of a process of re-identifying the world before one’s eyes.
