I like that the pieces have small differences when you look closely. They feel made by hand without looking mismatched when hung together.

It changes noticeably between morning and evening light. The dark walnut wood frame keeps the darker palette looking neat.
The pieces look more cohesive together than in separate online crops.
All three pieces arrived in good condition. I had been worried one might get knocked around, but the packaging did its job. We needed a little space to get them all out and compare them before hanging. It was worth waiting until we had time to do it properly. Very happy to have the set up at last.
Buying a painting sight unseen made me nervous, so I checked the dimensions several times. The size matched, the charcoal palette worked with our room, and the finish felt solid when it arrived.
Looks right behind the desk and does not crowd it.
Online it looked flatter, but in person there is more depth around the three-part structure and the overall palette feels more dark.
The best part is the surface. Some areas around the three-part structure are built up, while other sections stay thin and soft. That uneven brushwork makes the painting feel genuinely handmade instead of like a textured print.
The moody painting arrived clean, flat, and protected.
“From being restrained to no longer needing restraint to define freedom.”
Three horses emerge through powerful strokes of blue, orange-red, and teal, with the reins serving as a recurring symbol across all three works. Lowering, resisting, and crossing beyond create a continuous visual rhythm, moving the series from silent tension toward release.
Inspired by the shifting relationship between control and freedom. Through the shared imagery of horses and reins, the three works trace stages of endurance, resistance, and transcendence. Freedom is not simply the act of breaking restraint, but the moment beyond it—when direction becomes a choice of one’s own.
