A little quieter in person, and perfect for our room.

The finish is clean at the corners, and indirect window light brings out the veiled figure without glare.
I like it better with our evening lamps than under the bright ceiling light. It feels softer, and the colors sit comfortably with the room.
This was my first time having a painting delivered, so I didn't know what to expect. There was more packaging than I imagined, but the work arrived clean and undamaged. We unpacked it together and put it up after dinner. The whole room feels better with it there. I am glad I finally ordered instead of continuing to debate it.
Up close, the brushwork looks natural and uneven.
I almost skipped this because it is hard to judge darker artwork online. After seeing it at home, I was relieved that the veiled figure stayed clear, the canvas felt substantial, and the gothic look was not overly theatrical.
Online it looked flatter, but in person there is more depth around the veiled figure and the overall palette feels more eerie.
It gave above the bed the darker mood I wanted.
The package was substantial and took a few minutes to open, but that was reassuring. The corners, painted surface, and veiled figure were all protected, and there was no strong chemical smell when I unpacked it.
“Some grief can only be gently covered.”
Layers of black and grey veils fall from the center of the composition, framed above by sharp, dark branches. Flowing folds contrast with jagged contours, giving the soft fabric an almost sculptural weight.
Inspired by the veil as both concealment and protection. It hides the face while sheltering emotion, holding what cannot be spoken within layer after layer of folds.
