I have plenty of prints, so I wanted this purchase to feel different. It does when I stand nearby: there is actual paint to look at, not just the image. The texture isn't overwhelming, and I don't need special lights to notice it. That little extra interest is what makes me happy to have it in a room I use daily.
The finish is clean at the corners, and indirect window light brings out the weathered arch without glare.
Less shiny than I expected, in a good way.
The painting was wrapped carefully and arrived in perfect condition. We had it out of the packaging and on the wall that same evening.
The moody look works well above the sectional.
I almost skipped this because it is hard to judge darker artwork online. After seeing it at home, I was relieved that the weathered arch stayed clear, the canvas felt substantial, and the atmospheric look was not overly theatrical.
I was most worried about shipping because the piece is fairly large. The outer package showed normal handling wear, but the inner protection kept the obsidian black wood frame and painted surface completely safe.
I was mainly buying this for the texture, and it delivered. The paint around the weathered arch feels irregular in a convincing way.
In person, the weathered arch looks moody and richer than online.

Layers of brown, muted grey, and dark gold cover the surface, making the structure appear as though it is slowly being absorbed by the wall and by time itself.
