The painting came well wrapped and in good condition. We checked it over before hanging, and everything looked as it should. Really pleased with it.

The fading veil reads more clearly off-screen.
Small imperfections make the surface feel more personal when viewed nearby.
A small gothic touch in the corner where I keep poetry.
Soft daylight works well with the dark walnut frame.
Fading Veil was packed securely, and both the painted surface and corners arrived without scuffs or dents.
The 32" x 24" piece arrived securely packed, with no damage to the Ash Charcoal frame.
The painting looked smaller in the room mockup online, so I was surprised by its presence. The Smoked Oak frame balances the size and looks good in daylight.
The website photos miss some of the detail in the misty transitions.
The skull is more noticeable in person and the smoke is less soft.
The box was beat up, but the painting arrived perfect.
I moved this from the bedroom to our library. The skull and silver cup feel less intense there, and the gothic still life looks great beside old books.
"What fades is never truly gone."
As the last traces of light begin to fade, a silver chalice, a weathered skull, and rising incense rest in quiet stillness. The drifting veil of smoke blurs the boundary between the visible and the unseen. Rooted in Gothic vanitas symbolism, the composition reminds us that what disappears is rarely existence itself—but only the way we perceive it.
Inspired by the Gothic tradition of vanitas still life, this work explores the fragile boundary between presence and absence. As incense rises and light quietly diminishes, the veil between worlds becomes almost transparent. Through this painting, NightRelic reflects on memory—not as something lost, but as something that slowly retreats beyond sight while continuing to exist.
