The surface has small differences that make it feel personal. It's the sort of thing that doesn't come across very clearly on a phone.

No delivery issues at all. It came out looking great.
The room photo made it look larger. Glad I measured.
We hung it over the dining bench; the scale feels balanced.
The finish is clean at the corners, and indirect window light brings out the hair-like lines without glare.
I almost skipped this because it is hard to judge darker artwork online. After seeing it at home, I was relieved that the hair-like lines stayed clear, the canvas felt substantial, and the gothic look was not overly theatrical.
The outer packaging had a small mark, but the painting inside was fine. The hair-like lines and edges arrived clean and undisturbed.
At first I thought the painting might be too dark because of the website photos. In the room it reads more clearly, especially around the hair-like lines, and the muted color changes make it feel much less printed.
Side light brings out the haunting texture nicely.
“The hair left behind preserves the touch of memory.”
Strands of hair in shifting shades coil and intertwine across the composition, gathering around an ornate oval mourning locket at the center. Delicately braided hair is preserved within it, creating a striking contrast between the softness of the strands and the hardness of the metal.
Inspired by the historical tradition of preserving a loved one’s hair as a keepsake. Hair does not disappear immediately with parting, becoming an intimate and enduring trace of someone who is no longer there.
