The depth survives ordinary room light better than I expected.

The paint is fairly subtle head-on, but side light picks up raised marks around the architectural lines.
The inner geometry looks quite different when a lamp shines directly toward it, so we avoided that arrangement. A smaller size was enough for the space. We compared it with the paper outline still taped to the wall before deciding on the hanging point. The final position leaves the arches comfortably within view from a chair.
I wanted it where I would actually see it, so it faces the doorway of my little study. It gets more attention there than it did over the guest bed. The room has practical shelves, papers and a desk, but leaving a clear area around the painting was enough to make the arrangement feel settled without redecorating everything.
The architectural lines read more clearly off-screen.
This wall gets bright morning light and becomes dim later in the day. The painting reads well in both conditions. The dark walnut wood frame stays quiet, while the charcoal areas become more noticeable as the light changes.
The 48 by 36 ash charcoal frame fits our wide wall well. Morning light brightens the gold, while evening shadows make the arches feel more Gothic.
The gold arches and gray-green layers look deeper in person.
The 54-inch painting and smoked oak frame arrived undamaged.
Layered lines and subtle gold variations make the architecture feel hand-painted rather than digitally precise.
“Some spaces are entered without taking a single step.”
Layers of dark gold, black, and gray-green structures are nested one within another, while pointed arches, tower-like forms, and transparent geometric frameworks create a profound space that exists somewhere between architecture and consciousness. The depth of perspective draws the gaze toward the shadows, where order and negative space intertwine, lending the space an elusive, ethereal quality.
Drawing inspiration from the way architectural spaces guide perception, this work deconstructs and reconfigures doors, arches, and corridors, using an increasingly intricate structure to metaphorically represent the complex layers of consciousness: the deeper one ventures inward, the more familiar boundaries blur, and the more hidden elements are revealed.
