I thought I might be disappointed if the texture was too subtle. Once it was in the room, I realized I didn't need it to be dramatic. I can see the paint when I walk over, and from my usual chair it looks settled. It's enough to make it feel different from a print without becoming too much for a small room.
We put it over the fireplace shelf. It adds a minimal focal point without making the room feel themed.
We chose a scale that leaves a good margin beside the window. Reflected daylight lets the red and dark gold separate naturally.
The web image made everything seem slightly crisper than the paint.
