The finish is clean at the corners, and indirect window light brings out the hollow center without glare.
A softer look in person, which I prefer.
From the sofa it looks quite calm. When I walk past, I can see the paint on the surface, which makes it feel more special.
Looks right over the dining bench and does not crowd it.
I almost skipped this because it is hard to judge darker artwork online. After seeing it at home, I was relieved that the hollow center stayed clear, the canvas felt substantial, and the moody look was not overly theatrical.
At first I thought the painting might be too dark because of the website photos. In the room it reads more clearly, especially around the hollow center, and the muted color changes make it feel much less printed.
The outer packaging had a small mark, but the painting inside was fine. The hollow center and edges arrived clean and undisturbed.
Side light brings out the dramatic texture nicely.
“Emptiness, too, has a shape of its own.”
An irregular grey-white form is encircled by dark curves, suspended within a geometric field of rust brown, black, and warm ivory. Rough textures collide with softened lines, creating a subtle balance between solid form and empty space.
Inspired by the hollows and outlines left behind by time. When what once filled a space disappears, its shape remains—like memory fading away while leaving behind an absence that cannot be filled.
